Author Timothy Gates
Tim Gates is a husband, father, grandfather, and author of A Journey. He considers himself a deeply grateful and undeservedly blessed individual whose life has been shaped by faith, family, service, and a desire to follow God's leading through every season of life.
Tim served as a combat medic and nurse in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1986. After military service, he worked as a paramedic for nearly two decades, including five years as a Fire Department Medical Officer. He also served on disaster relief missions in Kurdistan, Iraq, West Darfur, Sudan, and post-tsunami Indonesia before returning to nursing and retiring from healthcare in 2020.
In 2015, while revisiting journals written decades earlier, Tim felt compelled to write a memoir. His goal was simple: to share the reality of a God who is present, personal, and actively involved in our lives. What began as an unexpected calling became one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life, resulting in A Journey, a story of faith, adventure, and God's enduring presence.
